Sport in Dunfermline is very well catered for with many top
class sporting facilities in the area. Dunfermline is host to the Scottish
National Waterski Centre at the Town Loch.
The town's main leisure centre is the Carnegie Centre.
Originally constructed by the well known philanthropist Andrew Carnegie it now
boasts many excellent facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool, childrens
pool, fitness rooms and gyms, saunas and Turkish baths.
Fife is of course the home of golf, containing perhaps the
most famous golf course of all - the Old Course at St. Andrews. Dunfermline also
sports many quality golf facilities including Pitfirrane Golf Course, Pitreavie
Golf Club, and a driving range at nearby Cairneyhill.
Dunfermline Athletic F.C. is the local football team which

Gymnastics is another sport at which the town excels. Our
Spartan's Gymnastic Display Team is one of the best in Britain; their annual
display festival 'Gymstock' attracts a whole host of top teams from all over the
UK.

As the largest tennis club in the Dunfermline area this
tennis club have some impressive players and facilities. Their ladies team has
won the Scottish Cup eight out of the past ten years. The club also boasts three
clay and two floodlit artificial grass tennis court, as well as an award winning
coaching programme. The bridge section is also highly successful. The club
welcomes new members.
Deep Sea World is Scotland's biggest and best underwater
aquarium and is located in nearby North Queensferry.
